Border City Championship 2026

Lloydminster’s Border City Championship tennis tournament wrapped up on Sunday, July 12, after three days of competitive matches, spirited rallies, and plenty of community support.

Hosted from July 10–12, 2026, the tournament welcomed players from across the region and beyond. The draws featured competitors from Lloydminster, Edmonton, Saskatoon, and as far away as Nipawin, Saskatchewan, highlighting the tournament’s growing reach and appeal. Players traveled from near and far to test their skills, enjoy the competition, and be part of a memorable weekend of tennis.

While a rain delay slowed the action on Saturday morning, players and organizers adapted quickly, and matches resumed later in the day. The brief interruption did little to dampen the energy, with competitors returning to the courts ready to battle for every point.

From tightly contested singles matches to entertaining doubles partnerships, the Border City Championship showcased the skill, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm of tennis players throughout the region. By Sunday, champions had been crowned, finalists celebrated, and another successful tournament added to Lloydminster’s growing tennis tradition.

A Weekend to Remember

The success of the Border City Championship was made possible by the dedication of the players, volunteers, organizers, officials, and supporters who helped make the event run smoothly—even when Saturday morning’s rain temporarily paused play.

The strong turnout from St. Paul, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Nipawin, and surrounding communities added an extra level of excitement to the tournament and helped create a truly regional event. The participation of players from as far away as Nipawin, Saskatchewan, was a testament to the tournament’s reputation and the enthusiasm it generates among tennis players across the Prairies.

Congratulations to every participant for bringing determination, respect, and enthusiasm to the courts. Special recognition goes to all of the division champions, finalists, and podium finishers, whose performances made this year’s tournament one to remember.

The Border City Championship may be over for 2026, but the excitement surrounding tennis in Lloydminster is clearly continuing to build.
