The Lloydminster Tennis Association was proud to host the Paul Douglas 34 Tournament from August 14–16, 2026, at Bud Miller All Seasons Park in Lloydminster, Alberta. With more than 60 participants taking to the courts throughout the weekend, the tournament was a fantastic celebration of competitive tennis, sportsmanship, and community.
Players From Near and Far
One of the highlights of this year's tournament was the number of players who travelled to Lloydminster to compete. The Paul Douglas 34 welcomed participants from Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatoon, Three Hills, Nipawin, St. Paul, and communities throughout the surrounding region.
The wide range of players helped create a great atmosphere throughout the weekend, with plenty of competitive matches taking place alongside the social interactions that make tournaments like the Paul Douglas such a special part of the tennis community.
Welcoming New Tournament Players
This year's tournament also featured beginner divisions in both men's and women's singles, designed specifically for players looking to take part in their first-ever tennis tournament experience.

The divisions provided an opportunity for newer competitive players to step onto the tournament court in a welcoming environment while gaining valuable experience playing structured matches against other players of a similar level.
The LTA was thrilled to see players take advantage of the opportunity, and we hope the experience encourages them to continue competing in tournaments in the future.
A Full Weekend of Tennis
With singles, doubles, and mixed doubles divisions on the schedule, there was no shortage of tennis throughout the weekend. Players battled through their draws while spectators, friends, and fellow competitors took in matches from around the courts.
The tournament eventually wrapped up at approximately 8:15 p.m. Sunday evening after a late rain delay pushed the final matches into the evening. Despite the delay, players stuck around and helped bring the weekend to a successful conclusion.

The tournament shirts and lawn chair swag items were a particular hit with participants. Both were certainly put to good use throughout the weekend as players relaxed and watched matches from around the courts!
A Huge Thank You to Our Volunteers
Of course, a tournament of this size doesn't happen without the help of an incredible group of volunteers.

The LTA would like to recognize and thank everyone who assisted throughout the entirety of the tournament, from helping things run smoothly during the day to staying behind each evening to assist with cleanup. The commitment of our volunteers helped keep the tournament moving and ensured the courts and facilities were ready for another day of tennis.
Your time, effort, and willingness to pitch in are deeply appreciated.
